Samaritan Car Care Clinic Grand Opening!

The Samaritan Car Care Clinic held its Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.  The clinic is a one-of-a-kind charity that repairs vehicles for hundreds of low-income families in need. After 16 years of working in borrowed space from auto repair shops, it now has its own garage on Madison Avenue in Covington, with four service bays.  The space also includes a bike repair shop, which will be operated by Life Learning Center.

Founder and Executive Director Bruce Kintner wants the Clinic to be a “hand up” for working families.  A shared-cost model sets the expectation that people who are helped by the Clinic will repay part of the repair cost in affordable monthly installments.  That money then funds repairs for others in need.

The land for the new garage was donated by Corporex Companies.  The facility was built through contributions from the Butler Foundation, R.C. Durr Foundation, the Haile Foundation, and many others; and additional financing was made available through The Catalytic Fund.
