Butler Scholar Grants

Butler Scholars Program

The Butlers built their family foundation on the belief that hard work, education, and determination pave the way for a better future.  It takes years of committed effort – and sometimes a helping hand – to make big dreams come true.

The Northern Kentucky riverfront area as it stands today grew out of Bill Butler’s dreams for our community. One of his favorite sayings is a quote from renowned American urban planner Daniel Burnham:

Make no little plans. They have no magic to stir men’s blood and probably themselves will not be realized. Make big plans; aim high in hope and work, remembering that a noble, logical diagram once recorded will never die. …

Think big.

The Butler Foundation funds annual awards at select high schools and colleges in Northern Kentucky, to help hardworking students afford a good education.

Each Butler Scholar award is renewable up to three times (a total of four years’ support), provided that the student meets eligibility criteria and maintains the minimum quarterly GPA.

On graduating from high school, Butler Scholars receive priority consideration for competitive Butler Scholar awards at Northern Kentucky University, Thomas More University, and Gateway Community & Technical College.

It is our hope that Butler Scholar Program will help student leaders aim high, realize their own dreams, and give back to our community in the future.
